Summary: SleepShield stores all your settings locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your browsing data. If you choose to provide your email address, it is used only to send you product updates.
1. What Data We Store
SleepShield stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local):
Settings: Your wake-up time, desired sleep duration, wind-down buffer, and blocked site preferences.
Usage stats: Nights protected count, blocked attempts count, override history, and streak data.
Preferences: Your selected site categories and any custom domains you add to the block list.
This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to any server, and we have no ability to access it.
2. Email Collection
If you voluntarily provide your email address (for example, to receive product updates, sleep tips, or feature announcements), we store it securely and use it solely for communication related to SleepShield and Hustle Club products.
We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect or have access to:
Your browsing history or the content of any websites you visit. Your IP address, location, or device identifiers. Any health, financial, authentication, or personal communication data. Cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics of any kind.
4. How Blocking Works
SleepShield checks URLs you navigate to against your locally stored block list during your configured sleep window. If a match is found, the tab is redirected to the extension's built-in intercept page. No URL data is logged, stored, or transmitted externally during this process.
5. Third-Party Services
SleepShield does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The extension operates entirely offline and locally.
6. Data Deletion
All locally stored data is automatically removed when you uninstall the SleepShield extension. You can also clear your data at any time through Chrome's extension settings.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
